The eventual decision came when he realized that he needed to be self reliant. "I used to wake up late every day, but my father would ensure that everything is ready by the time I would wake up. My family has sacrificed a lot for me," Dayal admitted in an interview to Gujarat Titans. "Slowly, I realized that I needed to help myself as I move ahead in life and not have to rely on my father for help. It was at that point that I made up my mind of becoming a cricketer."
Dayal didn't burst into the scene and set it alight immediately, his performances brewed gradually.
Even through the tough structures and competitions of Uttar Pradesh, Dayal managed to make it through to the state team, becoming a significant part of their plans since 2018.
